So Anyway...

So anyway, I have not done any guitar playing for a while now. I started developing a pain in my left index finger only when driving my wife's car and thought it to be the angle/position that I was holding the wheel. The pain has come more frequently now and not just when I drive her car. This has made it very hard to play guitar with no use of my index finger. Several years ago @eSGEe gave me a glass slide. It's packed up now and tucked away in storage, but it gave me the idea to try practice slide. Now that I have some free time in the evening, I might just pull out a guitar and see just how poorly I play.
OH --SON OF A BITCH! -- thats where that went !!! Been looking for it for years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SLide on in and
do it.gif

So Anyway...I'm back down to one guitar. I just enjoy making knives so much better than playing. My skill set is not in the musical arena.

I sold the PRS and the Godtop. Now I just have the Schecter.

I bought this music maker instead. The sweet sounds of cutting metal and wood...notice it says "Extreme Series" just like me, extreme!

Nice bandsaw!

So anyway, called yesterday after 5PM to see if I had to report for jury duty. Ugh, had to report today at 11AM. Drove down off the mountain to downtown San Berdo, about a 50 minute drive. The courthouse is a large building. As I was pulling up, there were lots of cops at the entrances. Got in and parked and walked up to the door and the cops there said, “sorry the building is closed, no power, your jury duty is completed for another year”. Damn, just glad I wasn’t scheduled for 8 AM. So, went to a new lumber yard and looked at hardwoods….

So, the last major wood project for the basement is lining the inside sills (360 degrees) of 4 windows. My theme is using 4 different exotic hardwoods, one for each window. I went to a large lumber yard I had never been to before in Fontana, CA. I was like a kid in the candy store. Many, many different type of hardwoods. Came home with curly maple (flame), black walnut, zebra wood and teak. Never bought teak before, it was $36 a board foot ! Bought 10 BF.

Very nice. The flame maple has quilt elements!

Nice saw. My Laguna HD 16 has held up well for 19 years it has a 5hp Baldor 240 v motor. I had a 2500 each knife order burned up the
Delta band saw motor took Delta two years to send a replacement motor. I just made some totem pole carving tools for a native corporation.

Don,

Beautiful looking wood!

If you end up with any scraps in the 2" x 5" range and don't need them, let me know. I can use them for knife handles.

Chris

Mmmmmm wood grain. Wav likes wood grain!!! Wav likes your wood grain!!!

Took the train down to Guildford to visit Javamagic today. Went to Anderton’s, then stopped for a pint, went to his place and played a few guitars and checked out a very odd Hiwatt. One serial number later than John Entwistle’s. Then we took a ride to Farnham to visit Guitar Village, which is much nicer than Anderton’s. Back in London now.
