So Anyway...

Sometimes I think I’d love to have one.

Do you suppose if I asked real nice and said, “Pretty please…,” that they’d move the location of the pickup switch for me?

A few words words on this subject. Check out 2 versions of the Santana SE. The 2nd one like I have is closer to the CORE Santana 1 through 3 models.

I almost considered drilling a couple holes in mine and installing a fourth pot and doing a Gibson style 2+2 and then relocating the switch to where I like it. If one does not like a switch placement, how hard is it to just move it?

I’m sure you’ll recall when I “Les Paul-ized” my Jackson. Depending on the size and shape of the control cavity, it can be rather involved. PRS control cavities are rather compact, so (depending on where you want to put a switch) the cavity may not be large enough to accommodate a different location.

Plus, PRS sometimes sets their controls in a contoured recess. You wouldn’t really be able to replicate that very easily.

Les Paulized I understand, But SG/ES Ized or Strat Ized, are 2 different Animals to LP or even Byrdland switching, so those variations are definitely easier than the LP style.

Sure. I mean, if the control cavity is large enough to allow me to relocate/add controls, and if I didn’t have a model with the contoured control recesses, I’d probably go for it!

Sp8 and I were talking about how I share in his and my efforts to learn and to improve and to ENJOY playing guitar now and forever.

In mentioning our influences, I truly cannot cite any more of a cornerstone to my exposure to Rock n Roll than this band and this album and particularly Smoke on the Water as one of my most vivid memories of the first true MONSTER of a song my 8 year old ears would ever hear.

We all know Smoke.............. which I heard on the radio sitting as still as possible as mom watched the barber cut my hair that day.

Machine Head ranks up there with Dark Side of the Moon in my musical infancy.

We met another retired couple up here last year, both great people. Ken was the sound engineer for Deep Purple at Cal Jam 1 at the Ontario motor speedway in 1974. He toured with many famous bands for over 20 years. Here’s a screen shot from CJ1 off YouTube. This is DP on stage, Ken is the dude in the center with the beard and sunglasses.

I just grab the guitar and play it. But I can tell you that SE is ass-backwards...IMHO

So, my wife went to our local bank today, which holds our home mortgage.
She paid the final payment. :H5:
We have a modest but well kept home.

We are mortgage free - 26 years on an initial 30yr mortgage!!!
We still have some home equity loan $$ to pay off.

Comparatively, our mortgage payment (without HO ins. or property taxes) - was less than our monthly Health Ins. premium, which was not a "Cadillac" plan.
(which we have been without for some months since it was through my wife's ex employer)

We are signing up for a NJ marketplace plan this weekend.
Higher deductibles and co-pays for the coverage / plan we can afford.

Without any political comment, just a solid factual statement: the whole AHA / Obamacare thing did not improve the health insurance for MY working class / lower middle class family. Your experience may be different and I respect that.

I do not want to give the mods heartburn or start a discussion over it: lets just say I may have had more new gear posts here if they did in fact improve the system, as advertised.
I truly wish they would have.

Owning a home here in Jersey isnt easy.
Congrats! You are truly a home "owner" now.
