I could do binding.

Up to now, I have been getting so many exquisite pieces of wood, I thought it was a bit of a shame to cover any of it. The side grain is often the best part!!

My purple quilt guitar will have "pho" binding, although there will not be a huge contrast since I left the back natural.

Ray you just really enjoy workin on guitars.I get it.I work on them way better than i can play them.
I do enjoy it. And building them takes it to the next level. It feels so wonderful to create instead of modify so you do not have to "undo" anything, and to not be bound by what wood the manufacturers tell you is the "correct" wood, which often just means the wood they get cheapest and/or can mark up the most!

So anyway, this year with the kids gone, I convinced my wife to let me help decorate the shortbread cookies. She supervised me over a few snowflakes, then i declared myself a master ready to go solo on much more complex pieces

After she saw my snowdude named "Blue Christmas" she demoted me back to doing stars and snowflakes.

but I still had fun anyway.

I excel at the QA position (tasting)

I am not really a fan. All my bolt-on guitars sustain plenty long. Set necks leave you with no options if an issue develops with the neck, or you desire a new radius, or simply a new style, or if the frets have been changed out too many times, etc. I just do not see the need for a set neck. I will follow the school of Leo and Tom Anderson, and I am sure others, in this regard. All bolt-on necks for me!
I am kind of set to the traditional ways, I dont know why.
I like bolt necks just fine on Fenders, etc., - guitars that commonly have them.

For some reason, LP types, or Gibson style guitars with bolt necks just seem not right.
Usually, it is the cheap copies.
Cheap to the point of junky in many cases.

I'm a proponent of decent budget guitars.
I had a bolt neck Epi SG junior that was a great playing guitar.
But again, I'm used to seeing the budget EPI bolt necks.

And I know some like a Floyd on al LP - great if you do but it makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

So anyway, I'm making a list of all my gear and the reasonable street values, just in case something should happen to me.
I should have done this anyway, but now the US president has declared this winter will be one of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated like myself, due to the Ohmygod new variant. The media outlets are widely reporting the coming "viral blizzard".
I dont think there have been any US deaths from it yet.

Just passing along the headlines.

Take care and stay safe everyone. Get the jab if it is right for you; speak with your doctor.
While there is some sarcasm in this post, I am making the list, and I do mean the take care part.

Omicron was only detected for the first time in the US just over a week or so ago. Deaths trail 5 to 6 weeks behind.

Omicron is already the dominant strain now in that short time. We wont have the data for another month or more.
So anyway, please stop the COVID vaccination/spread posts or I will be forced to delete them.

To all, not just the above quoted:

Maybe it would help if I told you that I considered all of you friends, and the great deal of stress it causes me to have to write these "warnings" or delete the posts of my friends. Maybe you may all remember my 4:00 am posts because I have plenty of stress in my life already and come here to be with friends and relax, just like you. Maybe you could think of how you would like to be in the uncomfortable position of monitoring these posts.

Please don't knowingly ride the line of the rules. We created this place so all of you would have a better place to go. Things like this make it worse on those of us charged with the responsibility of keeping the peace. It is a very bad job, and the worst part of the new forum life for me, the other admins and the mods.

That wasn't my intention either. I didn't take it as flame on. Doesn't matter anyway, I'm not much interested in discussing that topic for the most part.
I know it was not your intention brother and I made sure to make clear that my post was not directly in response to either of your posts. I just siezed the opportunity to ask everyone to be mindful because I hate that part of the job. Thank you for understanding
