So Anyway...

So anyway, I'm just spending a beautiful 75 degree day sitting under the show canopy watching stuff dry. There was a big storm at Ely, MN last night that took out a lot of the vendors stuff. Ours was one of the few tents that survived. However, everything got soaked. They canceled the remaining two days of the show. At least she had one really good day.
Too bad to hear that, Chris! How bad were the damages?

I would say half of the tents (booths) were a total loss. We sustained no damage. Looks like we lost an inexpensive pair of earrings. The top half of a 40 foot pine tree got snapped off close by. At least we don't have any lodging expenses like most of them do. She had an extremely good day yesterday which will help with the two days of lost sales.

So anyway... I was "gently motivated" to go out and do some yard work and am proud to say that our veggie patch harvest is off to an early start!

Yellow zucc, a few 'maters, some banana peppers and some grapevine leaves from trimmage. Now, to turn this into dinner...
It's like Guy's Grocery Games! You should have to use canned tuna with all that.

What kind of greens are those?
Hey, smitty... Grape leaves. The MIssus asked me to tame the backyard grapevine and instead of having them go to waste, I just pick them from the cut vines, wash them, de-stem and put them in a ziploc bag, throw them in the freezer and in two months they'll be soft and ready for making dolmades without having to blanch / pickle them.

OK... Panko-parmesan coated zucchini sticks (golden baked with a drizzle of EVOO), bathed in a fire-roasted Banana pepper /dark chocolate syrup mole and for dessert a sweet tomato-basil-mascarpone gelato with a chocolate syrup drizzle.... BAM!
Banana pepper's the name, not adding banana to the mix, mind you... and let's add a dollop of crema fresca on top of the zucc and mole just for good measure.

Anyway, Friday afternoon I FINALLY played the Silkyn Super 50 I have had for a few years at sweet spot volumes for the FIRST time.
LP Studio/ Burstbucker Pros
On the clean / Blackface style channel volume cranked, tubescreamer - played around but mostly with level at 2:00, gain almost minimal.
Dirty JCM800 2204 type channel master cranked, pre-amp between 3 and 7, with the Boss SD-1 , similar to TS settings above.

Sounded pretty darn good.
Pickups sounded really fine here, mostly I have trouble with them with low volume playing.
