So Anyway...

HELL -- several of my friends in High School .... drove to school-- IN PICKUP TRUCKS WITH GUN RACKS ........and the GUNS were in them!
and yet --- nothing happened ....... amazing aint it????
.....heck I know for a FACT one of them even got ridiculed one day rather "soundly" ....... and he didnt go get his gun and shoot up the whole school......... simply amazing ..........

You know, we used to go out on the farm, climb on top of the rickety old buildings and pick stuff off with my cousin's .270 Remington. We were 10 and unsupervised. Never did anything stupid or got in trouble. Just exploded a few pumpkins and squash.
Me and my best bud in high school got 12 ga shotguns (I got my older brother to buy mine, at Sears) when we turned 16. We’d go down to the Patapsco river and shoot up beer cans and such. We’d go hunting out in the woods but never found any wildlife to shoot. Those guns never did any bad deeds or committed any violence. I still have that 12 ga, it’s almost 50 years old.

So anyway...
We took on live fire Saturday afternoon.
Yep, just another day in the swamp. Redneckastan at it's finest.
We hear semi auto gunfire all the time, so we didn't think much at first.
Until things got real.
One of the great unwashed, of the hordes of people that should never breed, hit my pool cage with a .22LR round.

And while I was looking for the impact, the inbreeder zinged another one overhead. Way too fuking close for comfort.
It was somewhat unsettling to say the least.
Mainly because my wife & her friend were sitting poolside enjoying fermented beverages at the time.
Sherriff was called & reports were filed but I doubt anything will come of it.
First rule of safe gun handling, know what's beyond the target.
In my younger days I would have shot back with my 12 gauge, just to let them know that they are idiots. The pellets would have rained down on them.
Had to do it once only while out dove hunting, they were very apologetic !!
Cheers

This has crossed my mind before. Were you able to buff it out?
So….no residual effects that a light polish session can’t handle, I believe. Where the lettering on the shirt made contact, there is a tiny streak of dullness(only seen if you tip it a certain way in the light). The area that my forearm had discolored, and gave a “milky” appearance, has completely returned to normal.

I live here and I don't have anything to do with racing or basketball. I have pine trees and snow. I just need moose! Wait....racing, basketball, & YOU???!!! What???? :bash::bash::bash::bash::bash::bash:
No. I was speaking from your perspective. The me in my statement is you. And since you don't have anything to do with basketball and racing, which your state is rampant with, you pretty much proved my point.

Is this one too similar? Or do you mean that I just did a build? This will be my first build where the body is from scratch.
It's a great piece of wood, but it is very similar. If it was me, which it isn't, I would tend toward something more traditional after the last one and maybe get crazy with the color instead of the wood pattern.

So anyway, I'm working on a distortion/overdrive comparison. Not a shoot out, but just to examine the differences. It will be going through my 50 watt 4 hole and this Avatar 212 with Vintage 30s. The compressor will not be used. Just trying to decide how to do it. I think I should mic it and record on my computer. Can I upload Reaper files to SoundCloud? I would really like to do a video with good sound, but have no clue how to do that.

@Ramo ran down how he merges the mic'd audio with the (phone?) video.
The only thing i remember is to clap or something to key on to synch the timing.

Interested in your comparison. I have or had 3 of those pedals.
I'm never really happy with my tone; has the same certain murky quality across guitars, amps, and speakers. Not always, but with a fair /not high gain total amount of OD. Meaning I usually play into some amp OD.

Starting to think it is tied to the acoustics of the basement room I play in.

Is there any furniture or shelves that have some mass to them?
…if so you could try moving/rearranging your practice space a little. That can make a big difference.
Also, I’ll never forget the way things changed when I had all the insulation and drop-ceiling tiles piled up, just before I did the ceiling at my place…then when it was done, it was even more different.
