So Anyway...

so anyway, I hosed out and cleaned the spare tire well in wifes Rogue yesterday.
Doesnt everyone? lol

Bringing home groceries, 2 , not 1 but BOTH the spray tops on bottles of daily shower cleaner worked loose.
Emptied the contents into the cargo area, which then drained down into the tire well.
Fun. Not really a big deal but incredibly annoying.

At least it wasnt a jug of vegetable oil or something that stinks or stains.
I suppose one could ditch the tire and fill the well with ice and beer.

Week before a jug of laundry detergent tumbled out the back when the hatch was opened, shattering the top and spilling about half of it.

End of rant, Rock On.

And to think I was the only one with those type of misfortunes.
Cheers

I have those days--- at least a few a week......the bread never lands butter side up.......... :(

So anyway, tapered wood shims are difficult to make and expensive to purchase. I have been using strong cardboard backing from notepads. The backings vary widely in thickness and can be glued together for a thickness that is us just right. You can also stack 1/2 lengths closer to the heel portion for a taper. When you have it all glued together, you can spray or brush on polyurethane for added strength and moisture resistance. After ot dries, it is a very solid, custom shim

I never jumped over a bus on a motorcycle, however I did go over the edge on Dead Man's Curve on Mulholland Drive on my motorcycle and lived to tell about it. Walked away with a broken collar bone and some cracked ribs. I was flying over the edge like Superman when a tree caught me on my left shoulder and stopped me in mid flight. If not for that tree, I would have gone all the way to the bottom. After hitting the tree I remember seeing everything in black and white and being in slow motion. I also remember thinking that if I could climb back to the top of the hill, everything would be alright. When I reached the top I could see my bike (which remained up top) and I could see the red gas tank. Color had returned, I was back in regular speed and then the pain hit. Fortunately for me people had seen me go over and came to help.

So anyway, for whatever reason I am feeling totally uninspired. I haven't touched a guitar since Saturday. This is really unusual for me. I'm going to fire up the amp and force myself to do something.

I play guitar every morning for a couple of hours before work. Sometimes, i don't feel like it, but i play anyways. Generally, i run through 75-100 random songs from the 1980's/1990's, then i go to work and play whatever they want me to play there.

So Anyway,

I took a look at my rather nice SG leaning on the couch. It struck me that it wasn't making any noise. Not a peep. And then it struck me that when there is noise, I am not playing the instrument, but rather I am a integral component of the instrument's whole.

I can get exacerbated by counting time or playing to a metronome, or doing anything non-automatic when making music. Going forward, I may just think of that being a finely tuned part of the instrument that is doing it's job to a greater precision. After all, we are the only part of the instrument that can perform that particular function. I asked the tuners to do it, but they refused!

So anyway, I sort of liked this thought I had - so there it is
