So Anyway...

So anyway, wife is visiting her sister today, that will soon move close to here in a mobile home that we bought her...
It's half of our savings tied up in this effort.
That's 10 - 15 all inclusive luxury cruises that we'll never see to put it in perspective.
Most likely 20 - 25 fine guitars.
I should be sick, but I can only hope that this will help her get back on her feet after a couple of trips to rock bottom, a separation and a divorce.

You are a good human. We need more like you

Sysco, you must be psychic???

The plot thickens... The sister in law came over yesterday.
We close on the mobile today.
They finalised the divorce settlement yesterday morning and the wife didn't want her to be alone last night knowing that she would get bombed.
She got screwed royally, 20 years of marriage and next to nothing to show for it.
She was going to transfer from her present job to a local store near here. Had it all set up.
Then when she talked to the manager at the store that she was going to be going to yesterday, they said they didn't want her.
She had a customer complaint in her file and although she couldn't be fired for it, they wouldn't take her at the other store.

So here she is now, unemployed and would be homeless at 59 with a dog in tow, if not for her wonderful sister.

Good luck @Hackmaster and bless you and your wife and the humanity you are showing her sister.
Seems way wrong she would not get half of whatever was amassed over 20 years as a slam dunk.

I hope it does not unduly burden you and your wife as these types of people (long term substance abuse / never have it together - if that is the case) , whether purposeful or not, try to make their problems your problems and responsibility.
Just been my experience with my jerk brother.

It is a good thing she has you two ----

Im sure you will help her get back BACK on her feet

wow life do deal some blows at times dont it???? Hope things pick up for her and you all!!!
"Ditto" from me, too.

She got screwed royally, 20 years of marriage and next to nothing to show for it.
So her Ex husband made out? Or there just wasn't any assets built up between them to divide?

She gave up way too easy on getting what was due her.
No lawyer or anything, just signed off on 20 years of life.
After 20 years and 5 houses together you'd think that there was SOME meat on the bone.

Oh well. She won't starve or be homeless.
And she'll find a job. I know she will. She's not lazy.
As far as "substance abuse" yeah, that kinda fits here.
We hope it's just alcohol, which has been an ongoing problem, but sometimes I fear it's more.
Just from late night observations on my part.

So anyway, I was looking to buy a set of cheap but good P90's for my BWG DC, because it sounded sh*t last week.
I reminded myself that was at very low volume with pedal only OD.

Last night I got the Tweed Champ cranked up a bit - 11:00 on vol gets it into OD with P90s, and with /without Soul Food moslty clean boost.
I played this on my SX Liquid with a Gibson Lead P90.
Sounds great.
The tube sound I CANNOT recreate swith pedal only OD.

I switch to the BWG to compare and after a little dialing in the EQ with tone control BAM!
Sounds really good. NOT quite as good as the Gibson pickup but, good enough.

I will continue to watch for another Gibson bridge P90 for the right price and if it happens, great. If not, ok then.
Meanwhile, I am going to swap the bridge magnets to A5 at soon coming string change.

I really like this guitar. I am reminded of it every time I pick it up after I have not for some time.
Like a New Guitar Day.
Sometimes I play something I have not picked up in a while to help tame GAS.

Like when NGD threads of crescent moon SGs start showing up.
YIKES!!!

I upgraded the horrible nut and so so tuners on this, and switched the stock pickup magnets from ceramic to A5 neck and A2 bridge.
It has good bones, balances well.
Set neck 2 vol / 2tone satin some kind of satin yellow "nitro" or laquer finish, not poly for a total delivered price of $230.
