So, anyway I just scored Rolling Stones tix at Metlife (Giants stadium) for June 13.
Nose bleeders but its all good - around $250. each with the ridiculous fees and taxes they tack on.
Waited on line online for Ticketmaster at 10:00 same seat area was $450. yikes.
You watch the big screens mostly anyway if you are not pretty close..
I'm really STOKED!!!
Cant wait.

I gave up trying to see the Stones way back in the 80's. Once Bonham died and I couldn't see Zep before they ended without him, so I obviously had no interest in a Zepscimile band. I thought the Stones were fading past their prime too, so I never wanted to over pay for lesser quality shows.
I could not watch this
Greg Allman was supposed to be the opener for ZZ Top here a couple of years ago, when his health started failing and he cancelled.
Govt Mule was playing the Stone Pony the same week; I was hoping Warren Haynes would pop in and play with them that night.
One of the fill ins was Foghat; they were great and is part of what my current interest in Savoy Brown started from.
@gball, you posted as I was typing, so true I am mostly stuck back then, but I am also listening to more of the discography of bands I like but dont know much of / or their whole catalog. In that sense I am discovering new old music.
I LOVE the live UFO record you ? I think, suggested Strangers in the Night.
It is in my commute deck right now.
"YOu look a bit confused out there. Its your licensing laws" lol.
It's not just here, it seems endemic of all guitar-related sites for some reason, but It really seems we are all living in the past. Yes, the music we listened to when we were young was great, but it didn't end there. There is amazing music being made right now! Today! Music just as good as what we listened to as kids. But, looking through threads on guitar sites you'd almost never know it. Sad really, and somehow sadly ironic since you'd think musicians would be the first to get excited about new music and promote it. But look around these threads - there generally isn't anything posted that's less than 25 years old.
That is true to some degree, gball. Although, I post a bunch of older performances, I also appreciate newer stuff n will post all types I like and enjoy. Stuff from Classic oldies on up to grunge, punk, dgent etc
