Ambassador of Strings & Wings
So anyway I was just watching this video and every time I watch it I get motivated.
Congrats and good luck!So anyway, I love Ozzy and all, but I made the job transition today. I'm now shopping and delivering for Shipt. Totally my own schedule and it is a 1099 position. Wife wants me to help with craft shows during the summer if there are any. No more selling motorcycles for me.

Best of luck to you Chris.I just really like that I can decide when I work. I haven't had a Saturday off in years. Maybe I should start a band now!

The company I work for also provides an "essential service" and although over 300 employees in the production department were sent home for 2 weeks, there are a select few in the tech support department that were asked to work from home. Out of 22 techs, I was one of 6 selected to pack up my computer and IP phone to bring home and maintain our support service from home. Some of the other techs have been working there for 15-20 years. Some of the techs that were not asked have been there up to 10 years. I have been working there for 8 months. I could see the look of surprise in some of their eyes from a couple of the guys that trained me when they saw that I was selected and they were not. I am relieved to know that I will still be getting a paycheck and also proud that my dedicated hard work did not go unnoticed. I do feel bad that a lot of my coworkers will be collecting unemployment and hope that when this all blows over and we open back up there will be no animosity. So anyway, NJ just announced "stay at home" executive order.
My boss argues the service / emergency service portion of our business (commercial fire alarm) is an "essential service", but we shall see.
I am not a field tech anymore though, so there's that.
I am not currently set up to work from home, but I could cart my office PC home if they can set me up with access to the server.
I know that there will be job security in this position. This too is considered an "essential service."I just really like that I can decide when I work. I haven't had a Saturday off in years. Maybe I should start a band now!
