So Anyway...

SO anyway --- i was thinking (rare as it may be) and the thread about UNLIMITED funds and what guitar you would buy------and I realized----I wouldnt want to BUY a guitar at all---

with "unlimited funds" I would rather HIRE --- Eric Clapton--- or Buddy Guy--- or Jimmy Page or KEIF to allow me to hang out and JAM with them and maybe TEACH me a trick or 2 ---

THAT would be more priceless than any hunk of wood and metal ----

man I so want to win the lottery NOW THAT I HAVE A PLAN ON USING THE $$$ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope. Just scratch a band together and start a tour of concerts.

In my humble opinion...performing is the best "teacher" I ever had.

...but can those guys actually teach?
Teaching is a completely different skillset.

Paul Gilbert comes to mind when I think famous Guitar teacher.
YES!
I would sell my soul to Robert Johnson, so he could finally enter the pearly gates, to get lessons from Paul Gilbert.

Im sure Paul can teach -- very well-- Can Clapton -- or Richards-- dunno -- but Id like to sit in a room and see if they could--maybe a little "tid bit -- or trick" form each -- would be worth it-- ??

David Gilmour surely could show you a note or two -- just hanging about in his studio for an afternoon---

the EXPERINCE of the hanging out and trading some guitar "knowledge" was the POINT of the meeting--

yes-- If I want to learn Mixolydian scales with lazer precision and chord progressions and "tech" stuff (with some fun and metal screeching too Im sure) Paul would be an excellent choice--

but w/ unlimited funds-- I drop a million just have dinner and rum drinks wiff Keiff ---- would be a (possibly bad) but interesting evening if nothing else---

and basically the "hanging out time with those named above would be this

This!
The 2 step process to learning a lot in a hurry:
1- Get into a band with another guitar player who is better than you.
2- Pay attention.

----compressed--

SO anyway --- I obviously missed the point of the "fantasy you have unlimited funds you can do whatever you want" concept--

I wasnt asking to take lessons----- I can DO THAT TOMORROW at the music store across town--
Paul Gilbert has online classes Hack-- and Im sure for a little more $$ you can do video chat personal 15 minute sessions--

I was simply stating what I thought would be FUN --- and MORE SO than droping 250k on a guitar--- would be dropping 250k to spend a day in David Gilmours studio
or Claptons Country House-- relaxing Bullshitting and playing guitars----

THE EXPERIENCE of getting some tips and spending time with the people (they might be dick heads I dunno) but THAT to me would be more fun and interesting than BUYING some hunk of wood--

So anyway, I tried this cheapy power supply, knowing it was not truly isolated but was reviewed positively as at least, quieter than my One Spot.
I use the Joyo one and it is dead quiet but so was my 1 spot. I plug into my Power Conditioner though so that might help?

So anyway, what do you guys use to play click tracks or backing tracks to practice with?
do you only do this with headphones or how is it loud enough over even pretty low amp volumes?
