Many times I will sniff the inside of an amplifier or sniff a transformer, to see how it smells.

But beware of the mega-stinker smell of toasted selenium; you will not soon forget.

I love toasted selenium, just had some for breakfast. I think its supposed to help with dandruff or whatnot. Just close your eyes and pretend you're eating a fancy cheese.

Ahh, nifty little switch on the side to adjust frequency band. I've modified a few CB radios in my time. I used to add a Digiscan to my PLL radio's years ago. It sat on top of the radio like your freq counter but it took me from 26.005Mhz to 27.005 Mhz. Now you can buy 10 meter export radios that cover 10 and 11 meter bands. I've owned a couple of Galaxy exports. I've also owned Heath Kit amps and Icom 2,10,80 meter radio. Lots of fun if you have the money and time to waste.... err spend.
