Started using the new logo for posters. Our next gig is also my 50th birthday celebration

Last weekend's show. Our vocalist always gives me a panic attack when he says my name at the beginning of that lead part, I said to him after the gig not to say it any more! I get very anxious on stage and it doesn't help when I have to change pickups and kick in pedals right then. Otherwise it went pretty well.

We only had 30 minutes so we left out one song from our 40 minute set.

So what tuning you play in Dave and do you use a fairly high string height because of the low tuning so the strings dont rattle around on the fretboard ?

C Standard (C-F-A#-D#-G-C), strings are fairly low but guage is 11-56 D'Addario EXL117. It's slow music and I use left-hand muting a fair bit, for example during those fast strummed octave chord parts.

Great stuff Dave!
Not my genre but, man you guys sound tight and together.
I saw in one of the videos the singer said "take it away Dave" and you seemed to rush a little.
I really admire all you guys who play in a band setting, gig, record and pursue your dreams.
Best of luck; I hope you attain what you want from it.

Scares the Bejusus out of me, even if I could play.

I have told him off for doing that! I have social anxiety disorder and basically would prefer to do any solos in another room away from the audience! Every time he draws attention to me I make a mistake

I think you're doing fine, Dave!

Forgive me for being personal, but do you see playing gigs as a form of theraputic excercise? Like some kind of exposure therapy?

Initially it was. I used to sweat bullets for the first few shows I played in Terania, even though I was the rhythm guitarist and had a lead guitarist to hide behind. I get a bit the same when I haven't been on stage for a few months.

It's a lot better than I was four years ago, when I couldn't play in front of anyone at all. I took guitar lessons as a kind of exposure therapy, half an hour a week in front of one person got me used to it enough to join a punk band (where expectations weren't very high)

If you are struggling with it that's where I'd suggest you start.

Here's some video of half the gig. A friend took it. We fluffed a few chords but overall it was promising and all the feedback on the night was positive. I was sweating buckets! I always do when something has changed - first time out, first time out with new band member, first time playing new song, etc.

I can see why feedback was positive. Even on video camera(through my crappy earbuds), your guitar sound is huge, and heavy, while remaining articulate.
