I don't know if I've ever posted anything about my band before but we are playing our biggest bill ever this weekend, travelling to Melbourne to play with some killer Aussie bands (plus a ring-in or two from New Zealand!). We also lost our original bassist recently so we have a friend of mine filling in on bass. The organisers of this festival pestered us to get a decent band photo done and answer some interview questions. The interview hasn't been published yet, I'll post a link to it when it is.

Here's the poster and the band photo though:

Dave, I was just listening to Simian Apocalypse. How do you do the vocals without trashing your voice?

Not sure, I have always let some other poor bastard do them! That's me doing the General Ursus voice though. There is a Boss VE-20 vocal effect box on the vocals when we perform live

Oh and the lineup has changed since that old 2017 demo. The intro vocals were inspired by the throat singing of Tibetan monks

We haven't played that song live since April. Here's a video of what it sounds like now. Guitar higher in the mix relative to the vocals. I made a couple of goofs, including stepping on my tuner at one point and muting my sound thereby. That's also the last show where I used the 6534+ and Ashton 412. Now I use a JSX with a Peavey 412.

That is some heavy riffage.
Knock em down, and congratulations on the upcoming gig.
Mitch

We have a new bassist (Sam) who is making some really solid contributions to the songs and we will be going into the recording studio in just over a week from now to commence recording our first album.

We also have some great gigs coming up this year, a major local metal festival, an interstate support, and an overseas support at this stage.
