Show your Banjos

I’ve got a dusty heirloom…mostly a wallhanger…but I clean it up now and then, and attempt to fumble around with it.

No fancy gears here…

The original skin was sadly replaced with the Remo head about 25 years ago…it leaned in a corner at my grandmother’s house throughout my life. She said that she had received it when her uncle had passed. Now it hangs here with me.

Me neither.

I have a pretty badass vintage resonator from my grandpa, but no banjo.

I wish I knew more about banjos. As a mostly metal dude, there have been some interesting things that banjos have done for the genre. I'm thinking primarily about Brent Hinds in regards to banjo technique and style being applied to heavy music, guitar in particular.

I have no banjos

Yeah, there's alot of potential to do different things with the banjo if you're creative, I like playing slide on it too.

I was tempted to post of pic of the fire pit in my yard but I'll spare you my juvenile humor.

Back in the aughts a manager I worked for - huge bluegrass fan - gave me a banjo neck. Years after that I gave it to my buddy who used to build acoustic guitars. I suspect its still sitting on a shelf there.

The last man I worked for was - again - a huge bluegrass and similar fan - String Dusters, Billy Strings, etc.

The Universe may be trying to tell me something but nah nah nah!

Recently a saw a metalish band - Shunned at a Funeral - who has a banjo played. Never thought it would work.
