For those of you wondering what this car is, it is a 2005 Toyota Avensis Verso GLX (2.4L four-cylinder petrol, 4 speed automatic FWD) multi-purpose vehicle, people mover, or whatever you want to call it, sold as an Ipsum or Picnic in other markets but never as an official import to North America.

This one's mine. It's also my work vehicle, and general slave. Next week I'll be picking up a used Honda Element to take it's place as work and band vehicle. The Audi will just be the weekend car.

You can fit your whole band, bass, snare, cymbals, heads, etc in this Audi?

I had to look up the Honda Element. Looks like it could be a good band car. Honda Australia doesn't sell that model, only the CR-V and the Odyssey in that market segment.

In case you are wondering why I bought this particular model, here's a video where you can see how much room it has inside. Also it has the same payload and drivetrain as a Tarago/Estima/Previa but is 200kg lighter, smaller to park, and more fuel efficient. This one is pretty much the same as mine in spec except for the colour. They are a 7-seater but I doubt that I'll ever use the rear seats.

No, I just fit me, two guitars, a 4x12, and amp, and pedal board in the Audi. Everyone is responsible for getting themselves to gigs. It's not like we ever have far to travel.

I probably could fit all of us in the Element though.

In Australia if you plan to play in any city other than your own you are looking at many hours on the road each way, generally an overnight stay. So for us to go interstate to Melbourne we really need a vehicle like this. Last time we went to Melbourne we used two vehicles and it cost us $500 in fuel for the trip, then $250 for two nights accomodation (Melbourne and Ballarat), and we made a total of $67.50 from the door

Always the way of things....

Loaded the Kia and on my way to a practice for the new trio. 8 input mixer, Bose powered speaker, two SM58's and assorted cables, Blackstar one watt amp that goes direct to the mixer, a strat and the Godin A12 acoustic/electric hybrid.
