Show US the Guitar that Speaks to You...

This thread is somewhat similar to the thread called "The Muse I Adorn". I have now 21 guitars and its hard to pick one that speaks to me...they all pretty much do. I'll be back with an update...I just need to compose myself.

I like the consistency in the necks. The humbuckers all have a slightly different voice, but familiar enough that my tone is consistent when I switch guitars.

I'm missing something here.
If the tone and feel are consistent why bother to switch guitars?

A difference that makes no difference is no difference.

Its all about tonal consistency and neck feel to me.

The double neck is used the most and its always deployef for songs where a 12 string is desired.

I like the SG when I want a sound, similar to my double neck, but it only 4-1/2 pounds vs. 11.5 pounds.

The Les Paul 50's Tribute is what I use for heavier rock/playing, as it still sounds like my double neck, but with just a little more gain. It's my first choice to play in clubs because the satin finish is easy to live with and its the least valuable of my guitars.

But plugged in, they are remarkably close tonally.

The Slime is the only electric guitar I own at the moment. To be honest, short of a good two point whammy, I don't really need any other guitar. I bought this guitar being dumped on Amazon (thanks to an early morning tip from eESGe). It's one of the best playing, feeling, sounding guitars I've owned and I've owned some nice ones through out the years.

Consistency in tone is a good thing for a pro--- Im a hack that plays to dogs -- they dont care--- (except when I crank the KUSTOM 70's bass amp---then the floor rumbles and they dont like it) but otherwise to them tone shmone --- wheres my kibble!?!?!

Thankfully I am not restricted by a particular tone--- its what EVER the mood strikes --- ah the unabashed freedom of being a talent less wanker! :)

My take on this:
I am not restricted by a particular tone either.
First of all, I have zero guitar playing talent.
I like doing it so I work hard to make it sound OK.
I am a person who plays my guitars in front of people regularly.
Sometimes lots of people and sometimes I even get money for doing it.
All my guitars sound and feel different.
I take a random guitar to a gig and I play that same guitar all night.
It sounds and feels different than the one I played at the previous gig.
I make the way it sounds and changes my playing fit in the songs just fine.
It's always different than last time but it always fits in the song.
I always sound like me unfortunately no matter what guitar comes with me.
My bandmates like it because there are always surprises.

A very cool way to be, Tony M.

I don't like my tone on a Fender. I've worked hard to zero in on a particular sound and I don't want to change it...

Don. 1953 Epiphone Zephyr Emperor Regent with New York humbucking pickups. It has the best neck ever Gibson had to buy out Epiphone because Epiphone was far Superior at that time.
The Zephyer Emperor Regent was made 1950-1959 Gibson did not invent the humbucking pickup Epiphone had them in 1950.
