Been thinking about getting a Honda Shadow or a Yam V-Star or maybe a Vulcan or something simply to save me gas on my commute. Of course, I'd only get to ride when the weather is decent....
Nice I haven't had a dirt bike in some time, I am not big on quads, I use to uncrate and put them together years ago at a dealership. I prefer 2 wheels but I have buds all with quads wanting me to join them riding.....I keep telling them to get a street bike so they can ride with me :p I am debating another bike now myself. Dawn wants to learn again....she said it before and I had a new Honda Shadow for her but she wanted a Sportster....so I bought her one she traded for a convertible car. Truth be told I had a RM250 and a bud came over with his new Shadow. I had always wanted a street bike but never took the dive until that day, he asked to ride my RM so I took his new Shadow for a ride. The next day I owned a brand new one and haven't been in the dirt since :)

No, new bikes....Getting away from race cars and my bikes...
Bikes where I live are not fun to ride anymore....With the texting n distractions, I don’t want to get hit...
Just about daily here there are several fatalities on them...If I had country roads like I did in N.Fl I would say yeah, but here, not anymore....I have a buddy that got wacked a month ago and this is his 3rd in 2 years and this one he might not recover from...So I hate to do it, but its time I say: I am done for now..
Not going to be easy, but I will get over it....

I have heard that, I have a couple buds down there in Tampa and one really wants a bike but he says it's ridiculous down there. I get my fair share of scares here but I also can get away to the mountians. Also I have a bud a couple houses down that use to ride. He sold his bikes because he got hip replacement but he misses it so every once in a while I let him take it for a spin.

Its nasty for them here, there was a head on last week on one of our interstates where a guy in a towncar was in the wrong lane a plowed a guy on his SG.......
And thats just one of 3 in a weeks time...

Its not going to be easy, but I have got to stop.....I have had one since I was 10 so the addiction is there..
Just like the race cars.........

You are right SGE....I know its time I put the jacket on the wall and enjoy the memories.....
I have plenty of bikes to grab if the mood strikes when I travel, can trailer one...But here, not to friendly unless riding with the 1% ers than its a bit different...

That lightning strike one was nuttz...

I ride a fair amount-- I drive a LOT
been in Tampa--all over Lakeland-- Lake Wales-- St PEte -- Brandon and ORlando in just the last few days---back to LAke Wales tomorrow morning--I dont listen to the radio -- I try not to eat while driving (I see others eating SOUP! ) and I use the hands free phone bluetooth thing --

I have been tempted myself & getting a boat instead, especially after being run off the road and laying it down. I was coming thru an S corner and some fast & furious fella's decided my lane was theirs so I swerved off the road, all was good until the soft sand sucked the bike in. Mr. Fast & Furious kept going........
That little skid lid saved my life!

I am honestly having a hard time of it, but its best for my area...
I haven’t retired yet and would like to get the chance to enjoy it without any issues....
Having a bike since I was young is a hard decision for me to make....But I know there will come a time to quit driving too...Part of life, I guess, so I just need to learn to deal with it...
I will overcome this issue with time, but right now, I am fighting the gremlins..

The “like” was for the life saving skid lid involved.
I won’t ride around here anymore.
Too much “stupid” bucking the “natural selection” thing these days.
