My daughter put a little video together, along with a solo acoustic performance recorded on her iPhone (she’s playing guitar and singing). I’m very proud of her—she wrote the song and is quickly becoming a very good songwriter.

She is the tall, thin brunette in the video. There’s glimpses of her best friend (the blonde), me, and even her late Abuelo in the video—as I mentioned above, she edited this together just to have something visual to accompany the song. She shot all the clips herself.

I hope you like it.
(If you don’t, I don’t care and don’t want to hear about it)

My daughter’s band (of which I’m a member, playing guitar, slide guitar, lap steel and harp/harmonica as well as backup and occasional lead vocals) is Sheena & the Sideshow.

Sheena F Puentes is a stage name, but it honors her great-grandfather in the “Puentes” part.

She and I also have a semi-acoustic duo called Polk Salad Annie.

She’s been my announcer introducing the band (as a toddler), my backup vocalist, my band mate and my partner in crime. I’m so proud of her songwriting, singing and guitar playing…

But I’m mostly proud of the good woman she has become, in spite of occasionally acting like her father (that idiot…wait! That’s me…never mind).

My daughter (the girl who’s a foot taller than everyone in the pic…the other girls are in their mid/late teens!), doing missionary/volunteer work in Peru last year.

That is so cool. I like that you have a special bond. She sounds like she could be the next big thing. We'll done.
