Since I've gotten older I have far less tolerance for things that fail. The place I brought it said they would exchange it for another (not!) , exchange it for a similar priced substitute (why?), but wouldn't refund for it. So I smiled and violently threw it in the trash can near customer service. Turned about and marched out. No one said a word nor attempted to stop me.
I'm a private citizen now and can vent my frustrations and be offended. Something I could not do as a peace officer. We were not allowed to be offended, speak, or react to any personal affront no matter the language or verbal abuse. The day I retired was the day those social shackles were removed. And yes, I was raised to respect all others, I do, however, demand the same in return.
 
I mow the grass with the hair clippers.
I worked construction all my life & never did get into shaving with a razor every day.
I generally keep a goatee, & the rest is mowed down close, but not to the skin.

Hmmm... some cops here in Los Angeles shoot people that offend them. Shoot now, justify later. Not all cops are like this, I know. But just 1 like this is too many. My brother is a retired police officer and I do not group them all in the same category.

Wade, I am on the south side of 50 but have had an old school philosophy since before I could even drive. I remember once when I was about 14 being dropped off at a shopping center when I was about that had a grocery store in it as this was an arranged meeting place where I think a buddy's parents were going to pick me up.
Before they arrived, I had to pee. I went to the grocery store office and asked if I could use their bathroom. They said they did not have one. I never shopped there ever again throughout my adult life.

Another similar incident happened at a Lawn tractor/chainsaw/ weed wacker type business I bought my Echo weedwacker from in 1994.
I have a Toro Zero turn mower that would not get spark so I went to there to see if I could get a service manual from them to diagnose the electrical system. The owner told me, "we don't have service manuals" My reply was, "then how do the mechanics look stuff up?" He then tells me, "they don't have to, they go to school for a week."

Needless to say, I stopped doing business with the liar and drove to a competitor I got my chainsaw from. They allowed me to personally talk to the mechanic and he even Xeroxed the whole electrical section of their service manual plus told me to disconnect a certain wire and if I got spark, I had a grounding issue. Imagine That, a service manual and old fashioned service to boot.

Okay...

Behold, the Smitster has gone full-tilt old-school...and I'm loving it!

A few days ago, I got my badger hair shaving brush and some shaving soap. I'm doing it up just like my grandpa used to do!

I'm getting close shaves and saving bucks.

My father was really good in cutting into his upper lip using such a tool.

Anyway, when i used to shave my legs, i preferred a Gillette 3 blade tool and old school shaving soap for men (because of the better quality of the blades and the somewhat lower price compared to the things designed for women...)
 
Ha, Bea!

I have a moustache and a goatee, so I never shave close to my lips.

But, now that I've got the feel for a double-edge razor, I'm really liking it. Also, the shaving soap doesn't clog the razor like pressurized shaving creams do.
 
Corporate's got me by the balls as the best shave I get is from those $30, 5 blade thingys. I've used the other approaches but , I guess I'm just " Soft " ... and the Rat poison blood thinners they give me now practically make me bleed out at any nick or scratch! I can't afford the 30 buck ones but I just do it anyway. Probably time for the dollar shave club! and, I ain't gonna sell an AC30 just to get razors
 
Understood about the blood thinning meds. Take em myself. But I refuse to use those gizmos that are being marketed. I stand fast to my old straight razor, badger hair brush, and a mug of soap. If in a hurry, I'll use a double edge safety razor since I began using one in army basic since they confiscated all pocket knives and straight razors from recruits. Or maybe they feared I'd take scalps!:rolleyes: Ya never can be sure about the army when
it comes to us injuns! Ha!:rolf:
But yes, returning to the topic, I'm far more cautious with my blade as I too bleed like a stuck pig these days due to meds for B.P. control.
 
Norelco 3 head.
I replace it when the motor dies.
I'm on either my 3rd or 4th one
and I will be 70 in August.
They last a long time.
