Could just be me, but the humbucker SG sounds more like a country or pop guitar compared to the p90 SG.

I don’t see this as an either/or proposition.

3 out of 3 of my SGs have at least one P90(if humbucker sized count). 2 out of 3 of my SGs have 2 P90s. So yeah, I do like my P90 SGs.
That said, I do like both pickup sets in the above video.

Humbucker is the only one that gives me the articulate mixture of booming bottom end, with a searing top end.



I've played P-90's...they don't do it for me.

Both nice, and quite different.

I thought the buckers sounded a tad thin in comparison although they had a sweeter tone. I preferred the tighter, deeper, growlier punch of the P90s.
