One of my latest projects has been a dulcimer / mandolin hybrid
Tuned D A D just like a dulcimer but I have octave pairs on 2 sets of strings and unison on the other.
The octave strings add so much more depth and sparkle, compared to the standard dulcimer stringing.
This one has a full two octave fretboard and a piezo under saddle pickup.
