Schecter Stiletto-6 FR

I've dropped it off to Steve. He's doing this work plus installing a battery box in my Squier Jazz for an excellent price. Gotta love the old mate's rates!

That's the last time it will look like that with the HSS configuration.

So this is a list of the parts I gave Steve to fit to the Schecter:

2 x Allparts black chrome on/on mini switches, with round bats (for individual coil splits on neck and bridge)
Bare Knuckle Black Hawk pickup set, open coil with Alnico V bridge magnets option
2 x 550K CTS pots
1 x 0.022μfd Jenson PIO cap
CRL 3-way selector switch
Genuine Fender Stratocaster switch tip
black pickguard screws, selector switch screws, & pickup height adjustment screws
Gotoh cosmo black oval jack plate with screws
Switchcraft jack with black nut and washer

Steve has sourced the wire and the pickguard material
 
I'm really starting to dig your guitar Dave. At first it didn't wow me but now that's changed, especially all the mods that you're doing to it. I like the extra switches that you're putting on it for greater tonal diversity. Once you have that guitar completed I bet it's going to be a killer axe that you won't be able to put down. Keep up the good work.:)

All of my guitars have been bought with a view to modding them. Often the mods are subtle visually, but generally dramatic tonally. I guess I buy a guitar with a result in mind, I see it with different pickups in it at least and buy the guitar that I think will suit the pickups I want. I'm glad that I went this route of getting a guitar cheap enough that I could afford to install all of the components I've been wanting in a super strat, rather than trying to find those in an existing model. I don't think there are any guitars on the market with these specs under $2000
 
If I may take the liberty of quoting Steve regarding the guitar he's been putting together for me ...

Okay, I've just returned home with the guitar and fed the dog, can't really test it properly as I am going out but I did test it through a little amp at Steve's shop.

Funny what different people see in other peoples photos!
Two observations.
First, your mate Steve must be a thinking man. He has the "heavy metal" look and carries it off without tattoos, good for him.
Second, I love your "heavy metal" house, nice and tidy with floral furniture ;-)

I'm really digging that Schecter, Dave!
I prefer the pointy Jackson inline 6 style headstock but i like that Gumby shape too.
That body shape, wood character and color and pickguard styling are really mesmerizing me.
 
Seeing as you guys like the photos so much, here are some angles you haven't seen

Steve didn't know where these three screws went but they just go into the sustain block and capture the ends of the springs to stop them coming out in transit.

Orgy of Pigs was a local band that I was friends with back in the early '90s. That sticker was in my drawer for a quarter of a century before being put on my Explorer!

Here's a video. Kind of unique.

 
Guitar looks great now, and is that the largest capacitor I've ever seen inside a guitar?

What does she sound and play like now all the mods are done?

I'm just warming the amp up now to find out. I've had some humming problems with the amp so I have been switching preamp tubes out. I also had to take the dog for a walk. But I'll test it soon. I played it a bit in the shop but that wasn't a real test
