Santa was busy last night

This was my fourth year as Santa at my step daughter's daycare. A lot of the kids were away for the holidays but still a pretty good turnout. The kids faces are blurred as I don't have their parents permission to post. The one not blurred is my granddaughter who was Santa's helper for the night.

That is cool! I have thought about doing this before too....I had a principal in junior high school (he was a supreme prick too, back then) but he eventually retired from the school district and became a mall Santa. As a mall Santa, he made a KILLING over the holiday season. Apparently it paid quite well. Like, he'd do the mall Santa thing over the holiday season and then spend the rest of the year golfing in Arizona and Florida...
Couple years back he was riding his Harley up I-5 north, somewhere north of Seattle, near Burlington iirc....lost control and went down on the road, only to be struck by a big van, which killed him...RIP Mr. Higgins...but anyway, he was already quite a plump man with his own beard and it was long and white so he made an excellent Santa (so I hear anyhoo, I never once sat on his lap but I did have detention once or twice)

Don’t have any pictures but Santa played at the Goat Pub Jam Thursday night. He got to play with some members of the Bluesberry Jazz band. It was a real stretch for Santa. Lot’s of songs in Bb and F with major seven chords, minor sixth, etc. It’s always fun when you get to stretch your chops. I even took a solo on Stormy Monday which was the only song we played that I knew. At one point I looked at the charts they were using and gave up on that. I can read music but this poop was complicated. I mostly just watched the bass player to see where the root was and went from there. I played in a band with the bass player 47 years ago. It’s a small world.
