Where i live my local shop will be changing.

It is with conflicting emotions that I announce my retirement from Picker's Alley. At 65 years of age, and after 41 years of running pickers alley music store, it is time for me to enter the next part of my life.
This job is a dream for a lot of people, and this business has been a pleasure to be a part of. Lambton County has treated me wonderfully since I started here in 1984! The store will be taken over on March 17, 2025, by the national chain Long & McQuade Musical Instruments Ltd. We will be L&M's 107th store in a chain that stretches from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island.
This is a proud and profound moment for me, and everyone involved with Picker's Alley. I'd like to thank all current and former employees of our fine store, especially Tony Zangolli, whose dedication, loyalty, commitment and friendship has always been treasured by me. As his friendliness, pride in workmanship,
helpful manner and great sense of humour has been treasured by all.
Tony and I look forward to speaking with all of you as we wind things down over the next couple of months and prepare for the transition. Thank you, Lambton County, it's been a blast!

Yes for sure. It will still be there which is good. Hoping my man Tony will be offered a job with the new company. They did talk with him, but he still hadn't heard yet whether they will be taking him on.:fingersx: He has been there for years, he has a wealth of knowledge in the business and is still only 52 years old, he still has a some years to work yet. And also has two young teenagers to look after.

Sad but retirement is supposed to be good, I get it because I will likely retire at the end of May. Wish I could get to the store before you leave. Good luck and keep on keeping on !

Didn’t know L&M had that many stores. Hopefully your friend Tony stays employed with the new owners. If they pass on him, I’ll be boycotting L&M forever, dammit!

Yes they are a big operation and getting bigger. Yes i hope they take Tony, I have known him and Mark for many years. Its a great store and personal, they have ran a very good business and have many faithful clientele. You are treated like family. Of course every one knew Mark was getting to the age of retirement, so it wasn't a surprise.

Yes i can tell you retirement is great! And I have wished Mark all the best, he grew that business from a small little shop to a huge store. The largest in Southwestern Ontario. He is a great guy and will be missed, but life moves on. Thankful we will still have the store up and running, but really hope Long&Mcwade take on Tony, it would be in their best interests, and I know many others feel the same way, they are concerned for him.
