Sad Day in the Smitty House

Today my daughter‘s cat died. Although my daughter is in her twenties, it was still kind of hard since she’s had this cat for sixteen years.

Admittedly, that is a ripe old age for a cat, but it was quite sudden. She appears to have suffered a major stroke, which is actually not too unusual for elderly cats. She literally went from acting absolutely normal and alert to passing in a two hour period of time.

We do get attached to our animals, don’t we?

This is her about a year ago.

Most animals are better than most humans....

Yes we do get attached to animals and animal becomes family member, and when animal dies it is hard. It hurst because you raised cared and gave love and it gave you love back.

So sorry Smitty. It’s never easy. Was never a big dog person (spoiler alert.... that changed) but when our Beagle passed away many years ago, I cried like a baby.

MAN< SMitty I am sorry. I feel like I caused this because I hadn't seen or heard from you in a week or so, and thought about seeing if everything was alright. Now I know.

I feel the same when my sis has lost any of her cats, or on my last doggie 15 years ago. Give daughter a hug from me.

My deepest sympathies for your loss sir. My wife and I are cat lovers (fanatics, actually) and at last count have had 19 during our 46 years together. Losing them has always been hard. Torture really.

Family member is the best way to describe our pets. I actually hate the word "pet" around our critters!

A heavy heart here Smitty, we lost Humphrey a little over a year ago, Ginger misses him greatly, and she is now 18 years with us, my condolences to your daughter and your family.

The lose of a pet is never easy. I understand the pain, my heart felt condolences to you and the family.
