I'll preface this by saying that I really like the new direction and am extremely happy that it appears that they are listening to their customers again. There are several models in the new lineup that really have my attention and I am fully expecting to add a new Gibson in 2019.
That being said, Gibson if you are still listening...why oh why must you stop at the '60's? You're giving us a '50's Spec Standard, a '50's Spec P-90 Standard and a '60's Spec Standard. Why stop there? Pay homage to another of your greatest eras and give us a '70's Spec guitar: 3-piece maple neck, 14-degree peghead with volute, T-tops (especially t tops!), put the tuners on with the little winder, and how about a TP-6 stock. The Norlin guitars have gained a lot of fans over the years and are an important part of your history, yet the "everything was better in the '50's and '60's" mindset seems to still prevail. And of course we can't have a proper LP Deluxe because those were a Norlin era thing? And while I'm at it on the wish list, c'mon you guys...make the LP Custom a USA model again. We don't need the corksniffery of the Custom Shop, just give us a good old-fashioned Custom.
