ROUNDUP of OTHER GUITARS. Homage to Hidden Gems

Here’s my Dean Zelinsky. This thing rocks with the pup combinations and check out the back of the neck. It’s routed so there is less surface area that your hand comes in contact with. They have a fancy name for it that escapes me right now.

WOW!!! I'm at a loss for words, just... WOW!

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! notice in the first small pic ....................the CHIHUAHUA Lola in my chair .....................RIOT that is years old --

fyi.......for clarity -----

LOVE that foogin bass.,

its a GIANT hot mess and a heavy unwieldy untamed MONSTER ...............but when you really FORCE it to work -------- oh..........the tones ..............................

Or just play with active pickups. EMG’s will rat you out like they are facing a death sentence! “Oh you made a tiny little flub on this one note on an otherwise immaculate ascending run? Let’s just make that as LOUD AS EFFING POSSIBLE!”
Yeah bro thats how it is, all my guitars had passive pickups till i bought snakbyte , which has emg het set. When I start recording everything is live and feels like sound is watching you and wants to show your mistakes to have lough at you :)

On the flip side, it’s a great training tool. Forces you to build finesse otherwise face the harsh judgment from your own guitar.

For me it depends on what tone i want for what song or if i made the song playing on that specific guitar, basically just keeping the mojo since thats the guitar that inspired whatever riff. I quad track so two tracks i'll use the bridge pickup, the other two i'll use the neck pickup. sometimes i'll fiddle with the tone knob just to add a little bit more, but leads, if i do anything, maybe nudge up the gain a bit. Otherwise, if i don't have a lot going on on that song and depending on what key im in, i may get adventurous and switch between the two pickups mid solo but if its the case as in my last song where there's a lot going on, i'll just do the lead through the bridge pickup just so it cuts through.

Anyone ever checked out Haloguitars.com ? They custom build you a guitar to literally any spec imaginable, including any design you could draw up. Ungodly priced though but i guess if you wanted something craft built that is entirely your own creation, it might be worth it. Its kinda fun to play with the designs and configurations actually. Wishful thinking lol

I have a couple of nice Rickenbackers. Actually, they all are.

a '91 330/6 in Jetglow.

Then, a 2000 330/12 in Fireglow.

Then, I found this really cool '70s Electra 4001 copy. It has neck-through construction, checkerboard binding, and Rick-O-Sound. I can see why John Hall was mad that these were being sold here. It's quite a nice bass.

I've also been a huge slide guitar fan, so I have a nice '70 Dobro resonator. I need to play this one more often. My '40s Epiphone lap steel is also in the photo.

And, because I always wanted a Gretsch Billy-Bo, I made one to my own specs.

HOARDER! :pound-hand:

I love the sound of archtop guitars, and Framus is certainly one of the more beautiful examples. Love that tobacco sunburst. Wish I could play those.

So do I , they both need neck resets, refrets and other neck work, I was going to get around to it this year, but that didn't happen. Maybe next year...
