Rough practice tonight

Certainly not our best rehearsal tonight...

+ The basic brought in a new bass, and he actually sounded a whole lot better! It was an LTD.

- I Broke a string.... 1st song.

-Got a new pedal to try out.... It was whirring and I didn't even really try it out.

Took a newer Les Paul over to show my other guitarist, he loves it! It may end up being his eventually...

+ I made a change to one of the songs where after my solo we all die out and let the other guitarist play the riff solo and we all build back in.... Took the band a few times to get it dialed in and not sound awkward. On the good side, I made them sing a word or two in the chorus and I scream over the top of them and it sounds pretty darn cool we think.

- 2 songs after, I thought I heard my Mode Four cutting out.... I stopped everyone and chugged it for a while.... I pulled the wireless out and went to a cable.

- 2 songs later it really cut out.... I shut it off immediately.

-had to use my old JSX and an old Randall cab that also used to be mine, as backup.... It was not hissy, but more hummy.... So weird because it sits on the other side of my other guitarist... Weird how a little change like that can throw everyone off, it really messed with our dumber.

- I am hoping it's just the 12ax7 preamp tubes and not the output power. Which is solid state on these hybrid amps... These MF350s can be explosive sometimes ha ha ha.

I'll mess with the amp tomorrow.

Some days you're the hammer and a some days you're the nail! That's rock n roll!

I swapped the 2 preamp tubes out and I can't get it to replicate the issue..... Maybe it's Fixed?

Also it seems about 4 times as loud now! I had it at regular practice volume, but at home I plugged ot into a 4x12 of T-75'S (not even high efficiency speakers) and it's at 129 decibels ! ! Good night! !
Over at rehearsal it's plugged into a 2x12 with Manowars.

Maybe one of the tubes I bought and have been using in there has been defective for a couple years??? Doesn't seem to make any sense to me but that's what it seems like right now anyhow ...

Perhaps 1 tube or half a tube was weak. That's loud AF!!

Yes it was noticeable! I grabbed my tester even.
Amp Volume was below noon.

I bought them brand new when I got the amp.
Thinking about just tossing them both since I don't have a way to test them. Mullard in V1 and the EHX in V2.... That's how I do almost all my amps.

We went to practice today, I took my Mode Four back, hoping it is fixed, (it is) and also grabbed the little 6505mh as a backup... Mostly because I'm not supposed to be lifting anything yet...
Good thing I did too.

We made it about 20 seconds into the first song and the bass amp head blew up!! It's a behringer bx4500h and we've used the heck out of that thing for 20 years. Now it just makes a sound like an exhaust fan that's been mangled!

Ha ha ha ... We messed with it for a while, then plugged the little Peavey into a big ampeg bass cabinet and it was barely loud enough to practice, but at least we got through the set!
