I spied this rosewood tele body and neck on Craigs List. He's probably dumping it cheap if you make an offer.
But since you hate telecasters, I guess nobody wants it.

had a Jay Turser Rosewood Tele years ago (knock off of the George Harrison famed real one) I didnt have it long

depends on how its MARKETED/Labeled I guess..........................

so I guess they can SELL Australian Mahogany AS ROSEWOOD???? or a.... uhm --- WTF?!?! and Acacia is "known as " rosewood............well so WTF am I actually buying when the "spec" says "rosewood" ???????????????????????????

But not too late to make a short scale telecaster bass....
 
I almost bought Walter Becker's all-rosewood Tele back in the late 70s. It was ridiculously heavy, though. Didn't get an actual scale reading, but it felt significantly heavier than my '76 Les Paul Custom which was no feather weight.
