Me neither until a friend of mine told me about them. They're mentioned in one of the lines of the song "Sweet Home Alabama". It says "In Muscle Shoals there's the Swampers". Muscle Shoals is a small town in Alabama where the Swampers recorded as session musicians for the likes of Bob Seiger, Aretha Franklin, Rod Stewart, etc. It's pretty interesting their story.
