Thinking...why not make it a gold top??? I had a 2016 Gibson Goldtop and the sides and back were black on it.

I just like how my 2016 Gold Top looked, but I returned it because the action was set at .125" to compensate for a hump in the board...Here's the pic of my Goldtop from the factory paperwork...

I prefer the gold color that came with USA Hamers, like mine, and the current PRS guitars. It looks more like the lower left example in the above pic.

Noticed a couple of notes didn't sound right on a recent recording, so I really started looking closely at my Les Paul and I noticed several of my frets are worn totally flat on top, with brass filings piled up next to the frets. Guess it's time for a level and crown!!!!!

I don't think they do. It's definitely a gold colored metal. I've only had it 1 year on April 27th!!!!

LOL! Well, it's got some miles on it for being so new. The 12-17th frets are worn totally flat on the tops. What I noticed on a recent recording was a funky harmonic when performing a hammer on between fretted notes. A few of the frets are worn flat enough in the mid section that it's allowing the string to move closer to the adjacent frets and ping...

Ok, so after 11 months of non-stop use, here's what my frets look like:

12th fret has no crown from the 'g' string down:



And higher up the neck, you can see the flattened fret profiles:



It's looking like a full level and crown is needed.

These 2016 Gibson Les Pauls are 12" radius???

I did that to my Strat three times...in 6 years...the fourth time, the shop owner handed me the neck that’s on it now.
