Most of us here know who Robert Johnson was. Most of us here know the song Cross Roads made popular by Cream. Does anyone here believe this story to be true that Robert Johnson made a deal with the devil at the cross roads?

I've always heard that story...I guess that's where the term "We Sold Our Souls For Rock 'N' Roll" came from. I think though the Devil is just a figment of our imaginations if you ask me.

Definitely not true as such. But I think he used the story for what it was worth for publicity when he was playing. A great way to build a myth about yourself. And in the 1930s it was probably a lot more effective than it would have been today.

Well, I guess to believe something so ludicrous you'd first have to believe in the possibility of a "devil" actually existing, so...no.
