RIP Taylor Hawkins

What I can't figure out, is I'm not a huge fan of FF's. I don't own an entire album of any of their catalog but I do have a few songs here and there. There's a couple of their songs I do love to death, and I think Dave Grohl is one of those artists that has become a pillar of the industry. However,
ever time I see a picture or article or headline about Taylor, it hurts just a little bit more.

I haven't been affected like this since Nick Menza passed. And I'm not even a DRUMMER!

My thought: As we get older, death, particularly untimely ones, affect us more. I think we tend to have less judgment and more empathy

True, plus seeing him a lot in interviews and performances, being super happy, friendly and pepped up makes it sadder somehow as well. If it was someone constantly drab and miserable, you would instinctively feel bad obviously but its worse when its someone who lights up positively

Yes, completely agree, RVA. Plus, the older you get, the increasing number of people in your circle (friends, family, etc.) that pass before you (especially younger ones), gives you increasing pause to contemplate life more thoroughly and deeply, and definitely more and more appreciation for it and the irreplaceable value of time.

RIP. Every time this guy was seen he'd be acting goofy and overjoyed with a huge smile and whiter than white teeth. I think we sometimes fall into having to be someone we don't want to be and that we are not. Someone that seems overjoyed all the time in life is most likely not that way in reality.

It is like our history is being erased right before our eyes
