RIP Robert Herndon

I would like to contact his parents if anyone knows their contact info. I'm sure Melania can provide that to me. True indeed that a parent should not have to have their child bury their kids. I lost my daughter a few years back and y'all were very supportive for me.

RIP to one of the good ones.
Very shortly, after joining here Robert was visiting my neck of the woods, he came out once a year.

Took him to one of our band practice/ Jams at our band owned studio.

We had a time! All my jamming buds welcomed him, definitely "one of the boys"

I was a member less than a month, but he treated me as a brother, we did likewise.

Eccentric? Yes. Loyal, and loving friend? To a fault.

The world just became a little less musical.

Condolences to his family and friends. There's a large hole in my circle.

RIP my brotha. we will carry on, but right now I'm going to grieve and celebrate the man.

I'll be changing my avatar when I can pull it together emotionally.

Love all my tone bros, quite a rough way to learn this lesson. Let your loved ones know they are loved, while they are around to hear it.

SUX true.
I kind of wonder how far the news has spread. Wondering if any of his co workers at Fender know, I suspect his law firm bosses know, and from associates he shared with me such as a high end foreign car repair shop a buddy of his runs, I wonder if they even know.

I spoke to his one son Marc last night on Facebook and passed on my condolences both to him and his mom. Only a sad face emoji from Mom Herndon. I can't even imagine her losing her one and only Miracle Baby.

It is with a heavy heart that I report that our good friend Robert passed away last night.
His son sent me a message earlier confirming it.
Another legend for the party band in the sky.
RIP Robert. You will be missed.
Alex, was it Robert M or Marc Herndon who told you? I had a nice talk with Marc last night and understandably, he has not slept too well.

I let him know how good a friend to us all that his dad was. He thanked me for all my kind regards and for sharing a few stories.

I also mentioned that his grandma and I had become mutual friends on Facebook, at which, he said Nana would love to hear from me too.
It was very hard to word things just so, to send to his mom. But I did.

I have never been good with words at times like this…. However, as one ages, one has more opportunities to offer condolences. And that part of life really sucks.

This is devastating news! Robert was one of my closest friends on here. He visited my house on a couple of occasions and also spent quite a few nights jamming with me after work...

Robert was one of the friendliest people I've ever met. He was an amazing guitar player and so modest about it. I may have some pictures and even a video of him playing. I'll look when I get home from my TDY.

So, so sad...

Chris, when I heard the terrible news, I immediately thought of all our Californian members that Robert did indeed visit. You, DonO, Sysco, and I knew you guys would have stories.

I have his Squier Strat. We made a trade a while back. I'll cherish it now. Many a great riff was played with it!
I sure remember this trade. Robert also wasn't one who extolled much love for the Strats or single coil pickups.

I also have a gift that Robert gave me too. He sent me a loaded H H pick guard for a strat. I almost forgot, I sent him a History of Marshall Amps book for the kind gesture.

Just checked in and read this news. I am absolutely stunned!

Robert and I conversed several times and I received lots of useful advice from him, as I know many of you have as well. His passing will leave a very large hole here on TTR and in the music community in general.

It is going to take me some time to process this terrible news!

News came to me about passing our friend Robert.

I had to come back and pay my respects for our brother.
Times likes this there are no words to describe griff/loss/void they leave in your heart.

I can proudly can say I had pleasure knowing Rob, we talked when we could. He was always very supportive of everybody, very knowledgable and most important very honest humble human being.

I will truly miss him,Im devastated to learn this shocking news. As we get older we realise how short life is, make most of it tell your loved ones what they mean to you as we dont know when grim ripper comes to collect you.

Lets raise a glass to our fallen brother and lets celebrate his life.

You are gone but your legacy lives on!!!! Till we meet again jam loud, so I can hear it here and say hello to Dime form me!

You’ll always be my big brother!

R.I.P.

Ramo

Welcome back @Ramo . Glad to see you here, sorry for the reason that brought you back. Robert made a lot of friends here, many of which in person. I too am one of the fortunate people to meet him in person and play guitar with him. This place will not be the same without him. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, Rob was here since day 1 of TTR and this room will never be the same without him.
