RIFFMASTERS DEMOS, IDEAS, ALTERNATE RECORDINGS, and RANDOMNESS!

I knew I have would to listen on headphones so I just gave it a listen. I expected it to kick ass and it does. You use a Kemper right ?
What model guitar amp ?
Then just as good is the bass model , kick ass. Can we say ass?

Ha!
A song about the inner workings of a tube amp recorded with an amp modeler … the irony

Tis true lol, that was all on my Kemper. I even did the vocals through it this time. It’s just too handy for recording. I think the only time I play tube amps now is when messing around building them.

But all the guitars were a Gibson SG standard with David Allen T-Top style pickups into a Mesa Mark IV profile. I just tweaked the eq a bit for each track.
The bass was some sort of Ampeg SVT profile with an even blend of pickups on my bass.

It felt really nice playing the SG. It’s been my number 1 for a long time, but my standberg has been getting the most action since I got it. SG will always feel like home though

It was my first Well Hung strap too

Going back to the very first duel, here is some “fiery lickage” with probably 30 seconds worth of tapping. It bugs the hell out of me that I flubbed some stuff but I gotta learn to live with it I guess. I can’t always be polished.
I also cut the source audio short because I figured I couldn’t possibly wank for that long but obviously I was incorrect about that lol

Get your horns up!

Sweet cornbread eating lord!!!
You took that 80s cheese backing track and made it your b**ch!!!

Pick taping
wiggle stick
finger tapping
Pinch harmonics
You made all the 80s hair bands of the past proud!
\m/

It was fun dusting off some old tricks
This was me in a past life. Damn I miss that guitar. I enjoyed winning over the death metal crowd with that guitar lol

A man of sophisticated taste and ambition…. :rolf: :dood: That’s why I tried really hard to run almost all homebrew pedals, and a homebrew amp…people be like WTF is that stuff!?!? Are you really playing some kind of Valve Jr?!?! How do you know what does what?!?!(to the pedalboard full of unmarked aluminum boxes)…

Now gosh darn it , you just layed that down like you have been playing it for months. How long did it take to conjure up that fantastic solo ? Don't tell me 5 min. Lol
The solo had a nice melody to it besides the frills (which were damn cool.
And Dr. EVIL said , you made it you biothci.

Awesome! :dood:

It amazes me the guitar still works with the headstock broke off like that.

Thanks man. Soup to nuts was probably 15 minutes or so. I listened to it once to hear the chord changes, then hit record for the 1st take to try out some shapes and whatnot to see what works.
Then the 2nd take I just let it rip (and moved the camera to hide my messy workbench lol)

This was my first take that has a few things in it that I reused

The solo almost has a "Don't Fear the Reaper " vibe in the melody part.

Writing those lyrics and now this post, makes me want to revisit some hombrew stuff lol. I worked second shift for a while so I was getting home from work around midnight, still pretty wired from the day, but with a newborn at the time I couldn’t really make any noise… but I could solder all night if I wanted to! So I got real into building stuff for a while. I can’t say I got all that good at it, but good enough to get the sound I want. This was my favorite build, sort of a greasy 4 hole type circuit. I also really like the Metroid logo I made for it out of plexi glass (anyone else excited for the announcement of Metroid Prime 4?)

Anyways, feel free to ask me to stop spamming clips at any point lol. I won’t be offended

I can definitely hear that now that you mention it. Oddly enough, I was on the fence with getting a Kemper for a while and then Blue Oyster cult played at my old job, and sounded just absolutely amazing. I was poking around the stage before the show and noticed some kempers, and hearing them that night sealed the deal for me.

I was so in to certains bands, when I was younger. Like Iron Maiden. When they first came to So Cal with Paul Dì Anno on the "Killers" tour . Now I feel I might have slighted BOC,they headlined but after Iron Maiden we left.

I might try to dial this in before I enter it tomorrow but I am out of time and patients.
I spent more time building the backing track to never get to work on the guitar.
I am just giving up.
Nice. Your system really gives you a nice clean recording.

Here's something I just kinda sang over a backtrack ..a GOOD jammin backtrack I might add.

There is still something wrong with my singing and I cannot ever point my finger on what it is. Am I sliding around notes too much instead of directly landing on them?? Do I not sustain long enough?? Do I sustain off key when I do? Do I "ghost" over too many notes and you don't really hear them?? Please tell me if you can pinpoint the things that I see as still being wrongly done.
