Rick B tells us what killed rock

It seems the video in the OP can be summarized to say that rock was "killed" by less of a blues influence.

I do find a lot of Rick Beato's videos to be pretty interesting, and I think he makes some good points here, too. It is true the rock and/or roll is derived from blues.

But, I don't think anything "killed" rock. It's just that styles ebb and flow in popularity. Things that are popular today eventually give way to something else. It's always been that way.

No big whoop. So, rock isn't as popular today as it used to be. That's fine. That doesn't mean any of us can't still listen to it.
