Ive had one of these since the ETSG days (look it up -- I was searching "mods") -- however Ive NOT modded it ....

It sat on a shelf a while in a closet awhile in a spare room -- I decided to revisit this little beastie --- and at 89.00 (still) new ..... you cant beat it for fun
the stock speaker is decent (check the video below)
Ive seen 8" speaker mods (sometimes I run mine through a 12" -- stick a reverb pedal in front of it...and its rich and decent tone (AT SMALL ROOM VOLUME LEVELS) no it wont play the albert hall -- no one even does that anymore do they?
the other video shows it through a 4xz12 cab!

they are more fun than you can have with your clothes on for under 100.00

I used to play this little bad boy through a 412 all the time. I sold both of those cabinets though I have a couple of 212s, but I haven't played this in a while.

It's pretty much all clipping, all the time. There's simply no headroom at all, but it's a fun amp for straight in, no pedals, raw crunch tone.

I still love mine. The guitar volume knob is super useful in conjunction with the Greta. It’s a fun amp, for me, to this day. From vaguely clean, to full filthy fuzz, with a twist of the volume knob on my guitar. I found a 2X8 Altec Lansing PA cab by the roadside a few years ago, cleaned it up, and it works great with the Greta and my old Valve Jr.

These seem to go for over $300 now.
o_O Wow!o_O I’ve not entertained the idea of selling mine off, so I’ve not paid any attention to the market value...

I was really digging on all of the pawn shop series amps that came out back then. I still wouldn't mind having an Excelsior or vaporizer.
I came really close to grabbing an Excelsior back then. Never got to try a Vaporizer....but they did look cool.

I‘ve got a Pathfinder 15R. Fun little amp, for what it is. Best thirty dollar amp I got for dragging around when I was living in hotel rooms for work. Haven’t touched it since my last extended hotel stay a few years ago.

Maybe time to revisit it....... I was truly surprised (not amazzed, shocked, floored or TAKEN ABACK) but surprised at what -- with a little time dialing it in you can get out of them -- proper adjustment of the bass/treble....a touch of reverb and again -- comfortable small room volumes you can get rich full good tone out of them. For fun noodling with a VOXIE vibe (no its not going to beat an AC 30......anyone buying a 10 watt 6.5 " speaker amp thinking it will is a fool) but it does have a nice "thang" of its own going on

Getting 2 watts of power from a 1 watt 12AT7 tube is quite a trick.... :pound-hand:must be majical.

There is too much emphasis on the wattage rating of guitar amps.
Because people believe that watts = loudness.

But with a low watt amp, you could soon realize that low watts does not mean low loudness at all.
Low watt amps can be pretty damn loud; surprisingly so.
Of course it really depends on the speaker, not so much the wattage.
A more efficient speaker = more loudness.

Because speakers saturate.
A speaker is pushed to saturation, no matter how many watts it won't get any louder.
This is where speaker efficiency is the limiting factor.

I love small watt amps 20-10-5-1 .5 watt..... I can crank and drive and gain to my hearts content and not annoy the neighbors outside or critters in the room SLEEPING ........unlike the idiot grandson of my neighbor who is working on his CAR STEREO at the MOMENT!!!!!!!!!! AAARRGGGH
