Hey Robert, He mentioned it was well shielded and grounded. Made comment just how dead silent it was hum wise. Instantly thought of you and all your efforts to silence guitars over the times we have known you here.

It's an immediate deal breaker if it hums buzzes or squeals....no matter whose name is on the headstock or how much it costs.

With this YelloStrat, I can stand in front of my amp with no noise or feedback whatsoever....with the master volume between 7 & 8.

May be "correct" for a Burny, but Ebony was standard on Les Paul Customs until the switch to Richlite, but both a very black without a visible grain.

Robert, so Gib did start using richlite in Customs?
I know my Midtown Custom had it, I didn't like how it felt. Returned it and got my Brown SG Faded.

According to Gibson's Nicolas Chemsak, Gibson made the switch to Richlite in 2012.

Here's a fully documented 1974 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe that I maintain for a L.A. guitar slinger...it's got some mismatched screws and I installed a Nashville bridge when I did a full level and crown on it...

Gibsons have had nibs of one style or another on their bound electric guitar necks since....I don’t know when...the 50’s?....it‘s been their “thing” for decades. However, they started to change their methods of creation in the early 80s IIRC...evolving to the current style....like the ones on your Burny.
