Restoration project- 1991 Gibson Flying V

My house alarm guy saw my guitars. We got to speaking and he told me he had an old flying V that needed fixing. I could not resist and told him to bring it by. Here it is. It needs some TLC, but the wood seems true and the frets have life. Here she is.

The neck has dings. I was thinking of using black CA and then sanding the whole neck to 400 for smooth feel. I got permission for the sandung

I love me some Vs too. All I've been playing for the last couple years. They've dethroned my Explorer, it doesn't get played as much anymore, and all of my superstrats are just kinda decorative at this point lol

This looks like a fun project. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

2 volume, master tone for electronics that are clean but not working very well, even after some Deox. May need a re-wire

The pickguard will get the blacklight whitening treatment. The truss rod cover will not because I am afraid it will ruin te gold Gibson logo

Nice looking V. I'm surprised you wouldn't just clean it, or hit it with a bit of polishing compound, and a good set up. Also replace the buggered tuner and call it a day.

The electronics crapped out. Also, a little high speed buffing goes a long way!

Blacklight or sunlight applied to plastic covered with peroxide cream for hair treatments whitens yellow plastics
