Recto help

On DSL its like this…

I have 6 way foot switch…

Clean, od1 ,od2 ,od 3 ,master on/off ,fx

When I switch from od 2 to od 3 it remembers to have fx loop on ( delay) also i can manually switch it off…. Its super useful live….

Back to recto….

If i set assign knob to loop on it defeats purpose of foot switch if i have to go back to my pedal board and do it there.

I think cabs are F*** at rehearsals and thats why i was struggling with vol….

But my band is loud as hell man…. Everything is on 10….

100w amps and still not enough… lol

I blame drummer and they are loudest in my band..bassist with his 1million watt rig…

I have to play more with recto to fine tune and find best way to make it work for me.
If it's too loud you cannot hear anything correctly. Bass man can turn down to a reasonable level. 100 watts if cab is pointed where you can hear it should kill a drum kit. 4x12s beam too much in a smaller place.
Recto does not have that memory function if you want delay with channel 3 then hit that footswitch when you select channel 3.

Sounds like the drummer and bass player need in ear monitors and to dial themselves back some, especially if 100 watt guitar amps don't cut through.
Absolutely! As "fun" as it is to play at deafening volumes (using hearing protection, I assume, which kinda defeats part of the purpose...) reghearsals become useless if you cannot hear everyone

Am at a point if everybody wont respect the overall mix in a band, done...

Set to that kick with bass & rythym & pop a lead above it when necessary ...every soundman & venue if you come in like that is so much easier to set up.

You will benefit by never having to change your volume ever.. us old heads... our PA was for singer & we had to balance out or it stunk..

also plastic direct guys..level ya poop before you get to the venue lol

i refused to ride the guitars players volume one time at board cause he was an arrogant ass..he sounded like crap cause his settings were like 6db off every Line 6 patch... rest of us,,,our head up on cab..mic on the same cab band after band..

Bassist can never hear himself… i think his hearing is f****….. drummer keeps saying to turn amps up…. As he cant hear….. vox are barely audible….

My master was full on….. still cant hear jack sh***….

in ears is must i think….

Not being smart or anything. Next practice straiten it out easily

1) kick drum level
2) Bass level to match kick
3) Bring in Rhythm guitar to match drum & kick
4) Lead player set solo pop above drum-kick-rhythm
5) Now bring vocals in & when he is singing RESPECT it , give the lyrics or cookie monster grunts or whatever it is these days a chance to be just above it

there is no other formula we have ever done since day 1 or any live event from small bar to huge outside event.

If you set these levels. at practice..which is really your stage level monitoring..it just carries over from room to room with minor tweaking but usually not much.worse thing some one can do is touch the amp after its set..out of whack goes the whole band

That and lower the volumes and stand where you can hear your amps. There is no way a drummer is louder than a 100 watt amp. Part of the trouble could be the beaming effect of 4x12s too.

Interested to see what 67plexi has to say about this clip

Mark, I'm no expert but the 150 watt triple rectifier I repaired sounded great after repair blown power transformer and replaced all tubes
not a cheap date. I did have a contract with a cruse ship company to repair their Mesa amps they paid net 120 days it almost
bankrupted me Randal Smith was no help to get a Mesa servicing dealership I had to live in a population base of 250,000 no thanks.
On Ramos effect loop my guess a IC has failed common on Mesa amps.

I remember.

As I listen to the rest of ramo's clip. I hear a bit of a similar issue that I was having with my Laney AOR 50 Watt Lead head.
Once I saw inside my amp, I knew what the problem was. Stupid mouse had chewed a wire or 2, and I believe I had either a chewed or fried coupling cap on the board.

Without more info, I am leaning toward Ramo either having something in the signal path of the effects loop not wired in, or set right, or a sick amp/pedal and only a proper and thorough diagnosis will correct the issue(s). One thing that sent up a red flag for me was him asking should there be a pop when he operates his switches.

Ramo, what level are your volume knobs set to in Channel 2? I hear it seems relatively loud and crunchy,

Can you also walk us through what effects you are using, and the signal chain, like starting from the guitar to switch pedal and effects pedals, and the how things connect in back of amp. I saw the pics of the cables going to the FX loop jacks, but need to know what is coming from and going to where.

signal chain is....

front tuner>drop pedal >od> noise gate.

Fx loop

Delay>chorus>boost. ( chorus and boost are off most times) i only use it when i play clean parts for recording other than that its off.. so just delay in Fx loop.

OK all that looks good. What Rev. is yours? How old etc?

Do you plug into the FX loop like this guy says at 3:28+?
