do either sound as good as a Real early 80's British made Marshall Master Lead 12?

Yes it's a real tube amp. Like a Fender Champ small sized.I was thinking that -- not that I need it but SEEMED a damn fine price -- almost a good "investment" it is a MARSHALL TUBE AMP for under 3 bills ...
however I have always like the bugera
are they REAL TUBE AMPS thought ??
interesting -- I had the Origin 20h ... I liked it but -- never really could OPEN IT UP here at home -- was looking at the 5 ....but I really dont use pedals ....and I have this ...............

which maybe all the Marshall I really need -- but the Origin 5 is soo neat.... wish they made a HEAD of it .... I would just "have to" as they say lol
Been watching Im thinking due to the RISING tube costs some folks might start DUMPING some tube amps fer cheap....
Personally, I'd use the Origin 5C as a head in effect. Put it into a 2x12 or 4x12 and you'll enjoy it more. Throw a BOSS SD-1 in front and RAWK. If you have any 1x12 cabs it is still an improvement over the 8".interesting -- I had the Origin 20h ... You go Norm! Preach it! You decide what you like better!Naw all you guys are wrong, none of those sound as good as my Orange Crush 35RT....![]()
It depends on the type of music being played, the player and many other factors. The Lead 12 would be more in the realm of a DSL, and in that competition its no context: the DSL is the better sounding amp.
I mean...honestly...that Marshall is all the amp you really need but I do find the little tube Marshalls to be super cool. I love the DSL-1 I have for low volume playing. I just retubed it and it sounds freaking fantastic and takes pedals like a champ (I know you don't really use them, but I never met a Marshall that didn't love a Tube Screamer or SD-1 sitting in front of it).

for the record I cant play .......Im a bassist --- BUWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAH cough ..HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

100% AMEN!I think way too much emphasis is placed on gear and not enough on performing and creating music. I've said for years that all your subtle nuances that you strive so hard to hear in private will vaporizes on the stage once the first drumbeat hits. You won't hear ANY of the subtleties, so why stress out, spend tons of $$$$ needlessly for something only YOU will ever hear when sitting in YOUR home studio with headphones on????
There are situations where the old tube amps and old equipment still produce really great results, and there's nothing wrong with gathering up that equipment, but it's always wide to avoid the 'Rabbit Holes' when you are chasing tone.
What's best???
Depends on what you are doing. Depends on a realistic budget. Depends on what YOU want to achieve.
If you want to brag about how much you spent on an amp or guitar, then that's cool too, but that hardly supports a "which is better" argument, unless we are just talking about one's ability to outspend another.
I know guys who I see everyday, and they are buying $200.00 Mogami cables and they do not sound any better than my $24.00 Monoprice cables...and that' on commercial recordings where we can 'see" line noise.
90% of the music industry is based on mythology. Myths like cloth covered wire sounds better than poly covered wire, or how capacitor construction with identical values somehow sound better...and while most of these myths have been busted in various videos, guys will still pay huge $$$ for old vintage items that are hardly even up to performing as they did when new due to age and deterioration.
People hate facts because it invalidates the personal theories that they use as a justification for saying ______ this is better than _____.
I personally like to see people playing and enjoying their gear as opposed to being dissatisfied because their gear didn't meet an expectation that was unreasonable/unreachable from inception. Now I realize that I may be a minority in this situation, but because I am in the business of teaching/advising/guiding people to make reasonable and effective gear purchases, I see how the marketing campaigns and the mythology can create a lot of dissatisfaction with really decent pieces of gear.
I found this in a music forum and wanted to share it.
I'm not the only one....
