Just read an article about a lady who bought a 1960's GREYHOUND bus---for 7 GRAND and proceeded to sink 125,000.00 into renovating it into a "tiny home"-- a FOOKING WHAT!?!?!? (Oh Lord help me)

WTF is wrong with people ???

Winnebego and Airstream--even the local TRAILER dealership (sorry mobile home) have been making "tiny FRIGGIN homes" for DECADES you hippie over pampered millennial snot nosed Latte drinking IDiots!!!!! and they cost a BUTT LOAD LESS than retro fitting a bus or a storage container or a foot locker into a "tiny home" like your dumb arse watched on HGTV (which should burn) and you then park it for FREE at your parents or friends or some poor relative who gets STUCK footing your power and water bills because you want to live "off the grid" ---online---- tweeting and posting ever thought and stinker you have---


SOrry --- there's just so much STUPID on this planet and I only have ONE F-ING WOOD CHIPPER!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps I need to set up multiples with like an assembly (well disassembly) line.......hhhmmmm
 
PLUS last time I checked 140K will get you an ACTUAL HOUSE in many places in the U.S . -- here int eh rainforested swamps of Flo--reee-DUH--for instance ...

Man I so want to smack-----so MANY people---- there arent enough days in a week if you lined up ---- :(
 
Agree and disagree.
I agree that this unnamed person could spend their money and get a better result.
The disagreeing part is, it's their money to spend wisely or foolishly. OH the money 99% of us here have spent foolishly :-(
 
disagreeing with the disagreeing in that IF she hadn't watched a STUPID show on HGTV about tiny houses....she could have gone and bought a foreclosed house--- in a neighborhood and fixed it up and contributed BACK to that neighborhood and that community for the same or LESS than she spent on a bus ---or---uhm not---

I bought a Old Crown School Bus a few years ago and did a simple conversion to it.Got stuff at garage sales,hardware stores, Goodwill ect, I only had 6 Grand into the whole Bus including the purchase price. Im watching House Hunters as i write this hahahahahhaha, but i agree with ya on puttin 125 grand into that Bus .

I dig the rant, Adrian. IMHO: This lady bought her moment of "fame," making sure that the media discovered her exorbitant renovation project, and the subsequent article and attention meant more to her than the finished "mini-home" project.

Here's Goldmember's rant: I hate commercials. On the surface, they have one simple purpose - to separate people from their money. However, I believe that they follow an agenda that belittles masculinity, insults men's intelligence, and trivializes their role in family and society. Take an hour of television time, and count the number of commercials that portray men a bumbling idiots, while their wives or girlfriends watch, shaking their heads in disgust. Each time, the women take charge and remedy the problem with the advertised product, as the pathetic men are saved from their incompetance. What's worse is that this agenda is not specifically followed during programming intended for the 18-49 year old female target audience; I see it during prime time family hour, children's shows, and programming with a predominantly male audience, such as sports.

If possible, I would like to see what that might all look like after all that money invested. Is this a conversion to a motorhome? Or a semi-permanent fixture?

I think its the hipster superiority mentality, they think they "have it right"; are more clever and thus, the smarter and "cool" folks.
Sounds familiar but I wont go there.
Woodrow, i'm talkin' to YOU.

Maybe they just want to stick it to the man (the rest of us - taxpayers) and not pay property taxes on the structure.

Or, maybe the project just took on a runaway train life of its own....
 
I must admit Ive watched the shows----- and they spend TONS of money---- time ---effort "redesigning" this and that to make it liveable and end up 100-300k in on something that --- 1/2 the time isnt even road legal....

there are a BAZILLION Tiny houses ---- check the RV SECTION of your local Craigslist--- you wanna re-purpose something ---well there ya go -- and a LIVEABLE one can be had for 10-30k not 100-300K

Ive watched a couple where the PARENTS where paying the bill (to get the KID out of THEIR house Im sure) --- and then he parks it in THEIR drive way --- priceless---


wait --- wait--- I know I heard a squirrel ---- building a tiny house---- ON MY PROPERTY!

I used to work at a custom van / RV shop in the 70's. I converted a 1957 Flexable bus into a motorhome.
