Random TV Show Binge fact

You can only find the 1st Season of Murphy Brown through normal, legal channels. The reason being, the producers didn't account for future licensing issues so they allowed the opening credits to be of various, random Motown Hits.

Since the licensing and royalty agreements were going to be so insane to try to procure and track down, the company which owns the rights to the Murphy Brown series just doesn't release them. 10 Seasons are shelved for the time being.

I loved Northern Exposure back in the 90s.
The music was well chosen, complemented the episodes nicely.

Same deal there, failure to address future licensing.
It's available today, but not with the original music.
I'm watching that show right now on Prime. It was my favorite show back then and I hadn't seen it since it was on tv. I'm on my second time thru.

Gone. That one is OK at another familiar place.
You seemed to come across less political, and more economic, on that one…to me.
As in, “yay it’s not worth the investment, once we look back at it…”
But then, I am unfamiliar with this Murphy Brown person either. Must have been 90s TV, or thereabouts. I missed most of the “mainstream” stuff of that era…was that the one with the dancing baby, whose mom married the archeology professor?
Whatever, nevermind….

"Murphy Brown" was a sitcom that ran from about 1988 to 1998. It featured Candice Bergen as Murphy Brown, who was an investigative journalist in the show.

Seems like maybe that is why some shows just can't be found, or maybe they didn't authorize rights for syndication or such, which seems like a money losing proposition.
Shows we used to watch like Third Watch are nowhere. Neither is Providence or a really cool Canadian crime show called Motive from only a few years ago. Excellent production value, it is nowhere.

I remember watching both when I was younger, but I get Murphy Brown and Mary Tyler Moore show confused sometimes

You've been spending too much time in the "humor" thread. Lol.

Kidding -

Yes, it was about the cruelty of the amazon warehouse workplace policies.

Murphy Brown was a sitcom that had ill placed political overtones in its day over her being a single mom: Murphy Brown - Wikipedia

There is political content in the wiki link. Delete if needed, though once again, I am not trying to make any point other than politicians are stupid.
