Random Thoughts:

Who the Intercourse is Charlie Watts? Is he the Rolling Sones drum player? If he is he's pretty good in my books!

There was a TV programme many years ago about butlers. The interviewer was probing, trying to get them to dish the dirt on people they had worked for; eventually one of them was prepared to say who had been nice as an employer and he admitted that a musician called Mr. Watts was a particularly gracious man.

I am not a celebrity, but I hope people who know me think that of me.

Few things bring me as much joy as helping others. Recently, I was chatting with a fellow who was telling me about one of his guitar projects which had stalled because he needed a TOM and some tuners. I knew I had these on my workshop bench, and I wasn't using them, so I just gave them to him.

Guys like Mr. Watts have such a pleasant demeanor. Matthias Jabs is another...always smiling...always pleasant. I hope I convey the same...

HAHA I liked 9 out of the 1st 10 posts.

The first time I saw Charlie on TV back in the 80's I laughed. I thought he looked so Nerdy and could not believe he was the Stones' drummer.

As I grew to drum myself, I really liked his playing. Stuart Copeland was similar minus the nerdy part. I learned how good a player he was once I diverted my attention from guitars to drums and the skills of the various drummers.

Mick once described him as being like a fireworks display going off behind you. Just once he lost his cool and punched Mick in the face. Apparently Mick had shouted "Has anyone seen my drummer?" Charlie advised him quite seriously never to say anything like that ever again.

Ah, if only more drummers were like Charlie and just got on with holding the rhythm together (and the rest of the band with it) instead of trying to impress us with their fancy fills and poop! Rock on Charlie - and give Mick another smack in the face whenever you feel he needs it.

+1, a smack in the face from those who know us well, done infrequently should be followed with a big "Thanks friend".
We all become so self centered, it's better for a friend to bring the reality back than a stranger.
