Lucky us gets to fly out to tomorrow. Chicago Midway to Maui with a layover in Oakland. So far, forecast looks like light rain at the time we’d be visiting Oakland. Hoping that’s true.
Although there is a lot of snow fallen, there is still a long way to go in order to fill our dams to where they need to be.
I see you still have green grass. Here in NE Illinois yards turn to mud this time of year. No leaves on the trees. Very brown. But temperature…. Ain’t bad for January. Above freezing.

Unfortunately all of the rain here in the southland goes straight out to the ocean. We depend on the snow pack to melt into the Sacto river and aqueduct to quench our desert thirst

We don’t have what might be called a “rainy season” in Illinois. I think by stats July is the wettest. But even that’s only like 4-5” for the entire month.
