Just learned today that Don Wilson, founder and rhythm guitarist for The Ventures passed on yesterday, less than three weeks from his 89th birthday. A true modern guitar pioneer!

That's sad, I got this album, along with my first guitar in the mid 60's.

Never could "play with the Ventures" but it was a life long entry into guitar surf music.

Rest In Peace, Don Wilson.

This hurt. I'm a Washington native. My Mom saw them at the "Roller Barn" in our dinky hometown of Oak Harbor Wa.

Grew up dancing to his music on the record player with Mom.

The Ventures version of Walk, Dont Run is one of my favorite instrumentals.
I'm still trying to learn it all the way through on and off for years.
