Randy was not only a founding member of the legendary Eagles, but was a highly unsung and under appreciated component to the band's initial success, having came over from the musician's wellspring of Poco ( ironically, he beat out Timothy B. Schmidt for the bassist/singer spot when auditioning in 1968, while Timothy would eventually take his role in both Poco and The Eagles). He also most importantly wrote and sung one of the Eagles biggest hits in Take It To The Limit, which was incidentally their first single to sell a million copies; putting them in the role as bonafide megastars.
RIP Randy!
