A sad day for us lifelong Chicago Bears fan, we've lost Gale Sayers.

Not much to say, if you know American Football, you know the Sayers story.

Contributed mightily, and quietly to the Chicago area, a man of good words and deeds.

He and Brian Piccolo are reunited, goodbye Gale thanks for everything.

Thanks for that post, it means a lot to me.
I know it's sad. But try to remember that Gale Sayers would not want you to be sad.
We have to celebrate these people for what they did in their lives. We can't change what happened in the end.
No matter how sad, it won't change anything now.

I have a really hard time dealing with death myself, too. I know what it feels like to deal with it, and it is a hard thing.
The hardest thing that I have ever had to do.

Growing up in Chicago, a sports fan, he was a constant.

I have no sports memories of before Gale. To see Gale Sayers and Walter Payton talk football together- wow. Talk about two guys with mutual respect.

All those years and the only things you heard about Mr. Sayers were always positive, personally, professionally, community. He was a role model for many young men, always stressing education.

The news hit me harder than I thought, thank you for the kind words @Amp Mad Scientist , thank you so much.
