I have an older sister. In 1970 a boyfriend of hers left Leslie West: Mountain album at my house. I put it on and it changed my world, and gave me the impetus to keep playing when learning was really tough. I got meet him and Felix over the years (separately) and consider myself very lucky. He could be prickly and he could be nice, he was very nice to me the couple of times I met him. Even played catch with a football with him in a NJ parking lot before a show in the early 80's. My sister worked with his brother's ex wife and Leslie used to send me CD's when she told him he had a fan. The guitarist that influenced me the most for sure. He was never the best. Never the fastest. But the greatest in my life. RIP Leslie.
