That video has been taken way out of context and has been selectively edited.

Here is the full video with the little girl. Note 2:15 - 2:33 where he describes the opportunity to make a moon landing and succeed - and they did.

At 7:45 the context of Buzz's words are clear. At 7:45 he goes on to discuss finding out why something that we did (moon landings) has stopped. This makes it clear that the earlier "didn't happen" is referring to having not returned to the moon, not going to the moon in the first place.

Here's the full Conan interview. The full interview makes it plain that Buzz did go to the moon and does not deny it. The oft quoted line about Conan having not seen it is not a denial of the landing itself. Rather he is pointing out that at the time, what people saw on TV were simulations.
